Allan MayfieldGrowing up on a farm at Kimba and then career in agriculture was for me a fairly straight forward progression. Specialising at first in plant pathology in the SA Dept of Agriculture, I then broadened into crop protection and then crop agronomy. The latter was as a private independent agronomist with farmers in the Mid North of South Australia. Along the way I have been involved with research management (with GRDC and the SA Grains Industry Trust) and with advising on cropping programs in Morocco. More recently I have contributed to management of the Riesling Trail and to the Clare District Lions Club. For this work I was awarded SA Citizen of the Year. In my spare time I compete in middle distance running for Masters Athletics. |
