Chris has extensive experience with over 27 years integrating sustainable and exciting visitor experiences into natural settings, delivering cultural joint management within protected areas and delivering strategic planning and eco-tourism experience development.
He recently completed World Heritage Site Presentation and Visitor Tourism Concept planning for Flinders Ranges sites including Arkaroola, Nilpena and Brachina Gorge.
Chris has long experience in community engagement and working collaboratively to develop and promote popular, cultural, outdoor active and protected area visitor initiatives. Through his extensive work with a number of communities he has established a reputation for relationship building and successfully working through planning, design and administrative, community and physical blockages.
Chris has very recently developed and implemented a number of significant trail and visitor experience strategic plans including the Concept and Design for the Red Centre Adventure Ride (240 km backcountry adventure ride across the West MacDonnell Ranges), Macedon Ranges Shared Trails Feasibility Studies, Hume and Hovell Track Mountain Bike Master Plan, Exmouth Trails Masterplan, Shire of Wyndham East Kimberley Trails Master Plan and Manawatu Gorge Mountain Bike Trails Business Case (New Zealand). He recently completed the Tracks and Trails Strategy for Victoria's Glenelg Shire Council and recently completed the Casterton to Branxholme Rail Trail Feasibility Study.
Chris has significant experience working with a range of people including the communities of Papua New Guinea developed during the 2018 review of the Kokoda Track Authority, providing management support to the Kokoda Track Authority in 2014 and as Operations Manager with the Authority during 2010/11.
Chris is known for his enthusiasm and ability to develop and deliver exciting, enjoyable, popular and sustainable nature based and outdoor active visitor experiences and developing plans and initiatives that provide real improvements and grow community pride, health and wellbeing.
