Kevin took up the role of Executive Manager Economic Development & Innovation in March 2020 with Campbelltown City Council in South Australia just as COVID 19 hit. This role is a transition to retirement role that has allowed the organisation to inject more resources into Economic Development and grow Innovation across the Council. Prior to this he was the General Manager Urban Planning & Leisure Services for over 10 years.
Kevin has some 30 plus years experience in local government in New South Wales and South Australia across various roles and portfolios.
Originally trained as a horticulturist he has progressed through parks, recreation, facilities, sustainability and major events management, managing iconic parklands systems (like the Adelaide Parklands), large workforces, complex projects (like the ARC Campbelltown) and developing policy in these areas. His experience includes managing other portfolios such as planning, regulation, environment, engineering, construction, libraries, master planning, economic development & IT
He holds various technical qualifications as well as management qualifications from the University of Adelaide and has completed the Company Directors Course.
He has been a long standing member of the industry and is a Foundation & Life Member of Parks & Leisure Australia.
Over this time he has been an active board member and has held the positions of National President of PLA and President of the NSW/ ACT and SA/NT Regions.
Through his employment he is involved in boards around economic development, waste management, university curriculum advisory groups and continues to represent PLA on various committees and forums.
